What is Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle,
and How Does it Affect Me?

First, let’s look at the definitions of three key words…Functional, Nutrition and Lifestyle!

Functional- of or having a special activity, purpose, or task; or pertaining to the way in which something works or operates. (In this case, the way our bodies work!)

Nutrition-the process of providing or obtaining the food necessary for health and growth; food or nourishment.

Lifestyle- the way in which a person or group lives.

 So, in putting all three of these together, Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle, we are focusing on helping the body, mind and spirit to function at healthy levels through superior nutrition and lifestyle practices.

We live in a world where our body, mind and spirit are constantly barraged with assaults of all kinds…excessive noise, toxic air and polluted water, fast foods, lack of sleep, etc. And, the list goes on and on!
